Doris Painter Obituary

June Roberts Painter, 88, of Chattanooga passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 after a long term illness.

June was born in Decatur, AL on May 29, 1929 to the late Roy Roscoe Roberts and Nora Velma Woodall Roberts. After multiple job pursuits, she acquired working skills in engineering drawing which eventually led to a long career as a draftsman at TVA in Chattanooga before retiring in 1992.

June’s retirement pursuits were mainly in art and writing. Her painting skills usually resulted in framed nature scenes which were collected by friends and family. Her painting and writing skills eventually produced a bound collection of about 75 paintings and poems under the title of “Spirit Echo’s” and a few were given to her caregivers during some of her confinements in recent months. The introductory words which June wrote on the Cover were: “I Heard, I Wrote, I Give to you – June.” And the final verse from her poem “Going to Heaven” sums up her new life:

I’m on my way – what a beautiful path

No more crying tears, forever I’ll laugh

I’ll hurry in through the pearly gate

I’m on my way, running now, I can’t wait!

Going to Heaven!

June was preceded in death by an older sister, Norma Roberts, an older brother, Dalton Roberts, a husband, Howard Glenn Painter, Sr. and is survived by her children, Phay (Keith) Crownover and Mickey Maxwell, a grandson, Shane Crownover, a brother, Blaine (Jackie) Roberts and multiple nieces and nephews.
