Ruth Edna (Golsner) Asgeirsson

Ruth Edna (Golsner) Asgeirsson of Ringgold Georgia passed away at Memorial Hospital on Wednesday May 11, 2016 at the age of 79. Ruth was born on January 28, 1937 at Port Jefferson hospital on Long Island New York. She graduated from Greater Boston Academy in 1955 and continued on to receive her degree as a Registered Nurse from the New England Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1958. She was married to Arni G. Asgeirsson on February 8, 1959 in Babylon New York. She worked at the New England Memorial Hospital Maternity unit and later assisted Arni with his dental practice. She enjoyed travel, music, reading and their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Arni and their 3 children, Laurie Collins, Leif Asgeirsson and Eirik Asgeirsson. Also survived by brother, Fred Golsner, sister, Joan Bateman, and niece, Delores Simon. A celebration of her life will be held on June 11, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at the Collegedale SDA University Church. The family of Ruth would like to thank the pastoral staff of the Collegedale SDA church for the tremendous support they provide to Ruth and our family. Additionally we would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and the Chaplain at Memorial Hospital for the tender loving care they provided during Ruth’s final days and hours.
