Wayne Kenneth Slaughter, Jr.

Wayne Kenneth Slaughter Jr., 88, a lifelong resident of this area, died October 11, 2014, at his home in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

At his request, no service will be held.

Mr. Slaughter was born August 24, 1926, in Chattanooga, TN., to Cecile and Wayne Slaughter Sr.

Mr. Slaughter served in the United States Navy for two enlistments during World War II as an aircraft mechanic. He saw combat in the South Pacific and traveled around the world. He worked 33 years for Combustion Engineering as a welder before retiring. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman, and most importantly, a family man.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Christina Violet Slaughter, his daughter Karen Anne Slaughter, his mother and father, his two brothers, Edward and James “Happy” Slaughter,

He is survived by his sons, Wayne K. Slaughter III and Danny Slaughter, his daughter, Sandra Slaughter-Evans, his nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grand children.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home Healthcare and Hospice of East Tennessee.
