It is with a heavy heart that I write this small tribute and offer my deepest sympathies to Andrea, Chance, Erica, and the many, many people who were blessed by the spirit, joy, and humor of Mike Willie. He made us all roar with laughter at Outback, and I truly have never met anyone else like him who could find the humor in the darkest times and make others feel better as he did. Andrea, Mike was a sweet, funny high school friend. He actually graduated with my younger sister at Overton but everybody who knew him loved him. (That I was two years older, knew him and counted him among my friends speaks volumes to his great gift of bringing joy to all who knew him.) We are all going to be praying for you in the days ahead. I will miss Mike so much! I worked with Mike at Erlanger HealthLink Plus in 2005 and we became fast friends. This is also where I met Andrea, Chance, and Erica. Mike always had a new joke to tell and loved to make others laugh. He was such a generous person and would give you the shirt off his back. He was an inspiration to me and he could always brighten anyone's day. Mike didn't like to take credit for some of his accomplishments, one of which I am attaching the link below. He won an award for The Veterans History Project which was such an honor. He was also an excellent chef and we will all miss his Christmas fudge. Rest in Peace my friend. Prayers and peace for family and friends.

I am really not sure where to begin, except that I am deeply saddened by Mike's passing. We shared some wonderful years together during our employ at Erlanger. We were more than cohorts, but friends and much of the time, family. Our team shared so much together in our individual life's journey. It was just a few months ago that I received a very touching message from him - one of gratitude for believing in him. How could I not? Mike, you will always hold a very special place in my heart. Rest in peace dear one!
